Our Ministries at Desert Dove reflect our commitment to serve our community. Below are some of the regular way we serve our community, the ways you can access those services, and the ways you can participate with us.
Grijalva Elementary Food Pantry
When: 3rd Thursday of the Month
Where: 1795 W Drexel Rd, Tucson, AZ 85746
How we serve: Once a month we work with the Southern Arizona Community Food Bank to deliver canned goods, dry goods, vegetables and produce to the students, families and neighbors surrounding Grijalva.
How you can access these services if you are in need: Come to the Grijalva Food Pantry on the 3rd Thursday of each month from September through May.
Food can also be obtained year-round at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
How to participate with us: One way to participate with us is to donate in-date non-perishable food for the pantry. To do so, drop it off at Desert Dove Christian Church on Sundays from 9:30AM through 11:00AM. You can also help volunteer by assisting us with stocking the shelves at the Pantry on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from September through May. Contact us for further information.
Mission Sunday
When: Every month where there are five Sundays. In 2023: April 30, July 30, October 29, and Dec. 31.
Where: Here at the church, 6163 S Midvale Park Rd, Tucson, AZ 85746
How we serve: Four times per year, on each fifth Sunday, we celebrate Mission Sunday by collecting donated items for organizations such as Youth on their Own, Stand Up for Kids Tucson (serving homeless kids), our ministry partner daycare (A Dream Come True), the women of Sister Jose’s (Serving Tucson’s homeless women) and others.
