Desert Dove Church is a community of faith rooted in the love of God made known in the person of Jesus Christ. As disciples, we take seriously the call to follow Jesus, witnessing, loving, and serving from our doorsteps to the ends of the earth. We are committed to the mission of Christ’s teachings of extravagant love, peace, and justice for all creation.

Rev. Michael Malone, Interim Minister
Desert Dove is blessed to have the services of our Interim Minister, Rev. Michael Malone, who is leading us into our future story through intentional ministry explorations, engaging us on a deeper level in community, regionally with our Disciples community throughout Arizona, and on a national and worldwide level with our missions and programs throughout the United States, Canada, and across the globe. With the leadership of Rev. Michael Desert Dove has deepened our involvement with local food insecurity initiatives, engaged with the City of Tucson on affordable housing programs, and deepened our connections with local interfaith services (Interfaith Community Services). Under his discernment and guidance, Rev. Michael has shepherded us through the process of becoming an official Open and Affirming Congregation.
Rev. Michael and his wife moved to Tucson a few years ago and he came to us out of retirement to assist Desert Dove in moving forward into our future. He has a passion for ministry, social justice, equality, and believes the church should live beyond its doors into its neighborhood and not be confined to the church walls.
Dawn Hartley, Accompanist
Ms. Dawn Hartley, member of the Nashville Symphony and wife of our Regional Minister Rev. Dr. Jay Hartley, provides piano accompaniment and leads our small but wonderful choir when she is in Tucson.
Our Office Staff
We have a group of dedicated volunteers who work in the office performing the business work of the church by creating newsletters, getting the mail, receiving donations, paying the bills, caring for our wonderful campus property, and making the worship space ready for all services and events.
